JUDGE KENNETH KING: A BRIEF INSIGHT INTO THE INTERSECTIONS OF BLACK MEN, ANTI-BLACKNESS, AND MISOGYNOIR

The Michigan court system should remove Michigan Judge Kenneth King from his post as a judge. Judge King has a history of abusing his power and authority with Black girls and women. The actions he took concerning 15-year-old Eva Goodman is unconscionable!!

Eva fell asleep in the courtroom during a SCHOOL FIELD TRIP! Judge Kenneth King was offended by her sleeping and instructed court staff to falsely arrest her. Judge King and county officials humiliated this young teen by forcing her to strip out of her clothes, change into an inmate jumpsuit, and handcuffing her. All of this took place in front of her classmates.

They subjected this young, beautiful, bright Black child to absolute humiliation and lifelong trauma!! I hope that she and her mother sue the county, state, and the school district for allowing and enabling this travesty to occur.

Eva and her mother have been experiencing homelessness, which is why Eva was tired!!

This is one example (of many) of what anti-Blackness looks like coming from a Black man. It is clear from Judge King's history with Black women and girls that he believes he has dominion and power over Black women and girls, which is exercised differently than his approaches to other people.

Judge King is a Black people hating pig! He deserves to lose his career and all that he has worked for in his life. I am almost certain that such an experience would humble him. What would possess a Black man or adult to use their position to traumatize a Black girl CHILD?!

These incidents do not occur in isolation. They follow a pattern (Faith Fennidy, Dajerria Becton, Four 12-year-old Black girls).

ANSWER:

A culture built upon the tenets of anti-Blackness where empathy, understanding, and compassion are replaced by suspicion, distrust, and inhumanity where Black people are concerned.

I am aggrieved by this situation!

Please keep Eva Goodman and her family in your thoughts.
