Last month, I had the opportunity to present at the Brother’s of the Desert Wellness Summit. I must say that out of all of the speaking engagements and trainings I have had throughout my entire career, this event truly touched my heart in ways that the others have not. The audience consisted of mostly Black people, which typically is not the case and does not happen very often. In addition, the audience consisted of mostly Black gay men. I realized that this was literally the first time that I had ever been granted an opportunity to speak to, and cater to my people, Black people, in this capacity. My heart was full.
